In response to the Taiwanese government’s 2012 update of CNS 14400 regulations, prompting greater market attention to the environmental performance of motors, particularly energy efficiency, Walrus Pump promptly established dedicated Production Technology and Product Verification Departments and set up the Pump Dynamic Laboratory. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to developing high-efficiency motors fully compatible with pump applications and to continually enhancing product performance in line with global trends and regulatory requirements.
The laboratories uphold professionalism, refinement, and service, and conducts all testing under a systematic process. Under a dual certification framework, it ensures accuracy and traceability, delivering highly reliable data. In addition to actively fulfilling the TAF and TUV requirements, we engage in interlaboratory proficiency testing to ensure all the test results from our labs align with the company’s mission statement “Better Life Through Innovation”.
Recognized to International Standards
In 2015, it achieved a key milestone by obtaining ISO/IEC 17025 test laboratory certification from both the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) and TÜV NORD Taiwan certifications it continues to maintain. This makes it one of the very few laboratories in Taiwan’s pump industry accredited for both pump and motor testing, underscoring our professionalism and commitment to quality.
High-Efficiency In-House Motors for Global Standards
At Walrus Pump, we develop, test, and manufacture motors ranging from 1HP to 10HP, all meeting the national energy efficiency standard CNS 14400 for low-voltage three-phase squirrel-cage high-efficiency induction motors (for general purpose). Our commitment to efficiency is further evidenced by product inspection certificates issued by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and Inspection (BSMI) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Moreover, our motors are registered on the Ministry of Economy’s platform for Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), demonstrating our strict adherence to these essential regulations. This is achieved through our in-house motor technology, enabling flexible compliance with international standards.
